It's been a crazy/disasterous week.

Hi Everyone.

If you think I've been a bit quiet just lately.....you're right.

Got that 2nd DVD out (just) (thanks to all who bought it) but my DVD burner didn't want to play any more. Then I got a Trojan/Virus/Malware on my main machine. It kept hi-jacking every site I tried.

I couldn't email/upload or contact any one.

So I was basically trying to run an internet business without any access to the internet.

So, quick thinking as ever......;0) I thought, 'No problem...just hook up the laptop'. Excellent...for the first hour...until I jumped up to get the phone...didn't see the wire..laptop goes flying...screen shattered and latest files videos/notes/etc....well....sort of.....gone! Gulp AAARRGGHHH!!!!

Please note ..that is not what I said at the time...It was A VERY RUDE WORD...which I repeated MANY TIMES...

This was Yesterday. Today..well not smashed/lost/deleted anything up to now!!

OK..on to business.

The desktop messenger..Kind of worked for about 2500 of my subscribers but I know that some of you have had real problems with it. I'm working frantically to solve those problems and I'll keep everyone posted as and when....

The latest little batch of Freebies (Click Here if You Want Them)

was very well received and I know that only some of you have heard about my latest venture.

I'm going to shoot twenty (20) 3 minute tuition videos of popular songs that ONLY INCLUDE STRUMMING, and sell them as a download package and this is where you can contribute.

I am asking you now to tell me what you'd like to see in the package. I can't promise to include all of them but I'll do my level best to make as many people as possible...happy.

So if YOU have a favourite that you'd like me to do the video of (Strumming Pieces Only) get posting replies to this RIGHT NOW........

I'm hoping to put out some samples soon to give you a taste of what to expect.

Hey folks...I couldn't do ANY of this without you so I want to thank every one of you for giving me support. I hope to repay you many times over.

Cheers

Mike

FOOTNOTE: One of my subscriber/customers has been beavering away for the last few months learning from my videos. Every now and then he sends me a video link of his latest piece. I asked if it would be ok for you to look at them...

Hi Mike
I know I will eagely wait for any songs you put into your tuition videos Mike but seeing that you asked, I have over 45 years of songs that I would like to learn.
I will start with what I think is the best guitar strumming song ever:-
My Sweet Lord... George Harrison

then just off the top of my head:-

Tin Man...America
Not Fad Away...Rolling Stones
Me and Bobbie Mcgee...Kris kristofeson / Janice Joplin
Father and Son...Cat Stevens
Tuesdays Dead...Cat Stevens
Blowin in the Wind...Bob Dylan
Here There and Everwhere..Beatles
Norwegean Wood...Beatles

Would anybody like to comment?

Mike Thanks Again,
Jimbo

Needle and Pins, by the Springfields I think, which Dusty Springfield was a member of before she went solo, If that is correct does that make me old too

Hi Mike
Some eary Elvis stuff would be good, such as Good Rockin Tonight, or Blue Moon of Kentucky.

Jimbo - It was Jackie De Shannon who first recorded Needles and Pins, but it was The Searchers who had the big hit with it.

Hi all,
How about :-

American Pie - Don McLean
Take It Easy - Eagles
Big Yellow Taxi - Joni Mitchell
Piano Man - Billy Joel
Guitar Man - Elvis
Help - Beatles
Back For Good - Take That :-)
Winner Takes It All - ABBA
Norwegean Wood - Beatles (agree with Jimbo on this one)

Regards.
Rich.

Seems my list is goin'to be a little different and little longer than most.
Here are some songs I would love to be able to strum though it's likely to take me ages:

-concrete and clay - unit 4+2
willin - ???(I've been wet by the and beaten by the snow...)
-blues run the game - Bert Jansch
-you are my sunshine
-the town I loved so well
-dirty old town
-song for Ireland - Dick Gaughan
-I've just seen a face - beatles
-for no one - beatles
-the night they drove old dixie down - the band
-long black veil - the band
-rain on the roof
-do you believe in magic
-darling be home soon
you didn't have to be so nice - lovin'spoonful
and from the album the original Sandy Denny:
-this train
-you never wanted
-milk and honey
-my ramblin boy
-the last thing on my mind
-make me a pallet on the floor
And all of a sudden more songs spring to mind but I think I'd better leave it at this.
Just imagening the myriad of nice songs you could choose from I wish you the best of luck, Mike.

regards, Dick

Hi Mike,
Your arrangement of "Silent Night" was magnificent! The open strings ring out, it is a blast to play the song which I never did learn properly in the first place!

Hi Mike.

As a customer of your for some time now, I like to think we have a similiar taste in tunes as I do enjoy every video you have done to date.

My choices for strumming pieces would be.
America - "sister golden hair" its a great struming peice that everyone would know as soon as they heard it, and anything john prine would put you in anyone's spotlight.

cheer's!!
